Southeast Sicily

Southeast

Our home, the southeast

Until now, we’ve limited our choice of holiday homes to two of Sicily’s regions. Why that is will become clear when taking a look at our website.

Our home, the south-east.

When we came to Sicily thirteen years ago (2003) and saw the region around Noto for the first time, it was clear to us that this was a region with an incredible potential for tourism.

There are enough places worth seeing during a two week stay in the region within a 50 kilometre radius. Despite some of Sicily’s negative aspects, we believe that there isn’t a more intereseting place in Europe.

The Noto region really offers everything needed for a relaxed yet varied holiday in the south. This area is home to the baroque towns Noto, Scicli, Modica and Ragusa Ibla (all UNESO World Heritage Sites), Siracusa with its unique town centre on the Ortigia peninsula and a greek theatre, and the Vendicari nature reserve with five wonderul beaches.

The Cava Grande, a 300 meter-deep canyon with natural swimming pools, the Pantalica gorge with its 5000 rock-cut tombs, and the Monti Iblei limestone mountain range, home to the beautiful town of Palazollo Acreide which is also a baroque town under UNESCO World Heritage Site protection and which houses a superbly preserved greek theatre, are all to be found in this region. A day trip to Mount Etna, Taormina or Agrigent are also possible from Noto.
